The Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) serves Floridians through its responsibilities for regulation, compliance and enforcement of statutes related to the business of insurance. The
OIR is also entrusted with the duty of carefully monitoring statewide industry markets. Here you can verify an insurance company by conducting a company search, shop and compare homeowner rates and review rate and form filings.
Licensee Search
The Division of Agent and Agency Services
protects the insurance-buying public by licensing competent and trustworthy individuals and entities and expeditiously investigating alleged violations of the Florida Insurance Code. The DFS licensee search service can provide names and addresses of agents and adjusters with at least one active license in the state of Florida. The companies with which the licensees have active appointments are provided as well.
Unlicensed Entities
It is illegal for companies or individuals to market insurance in Florida without a license. Agents must be licensed and must have active appointments with specific companies in order to legaly sell insurance products. If you suspect an entity is not authorized or licensed to transact insurance in Florida, from Florida or with residents of Florida, please notify our office.
