Disclaimer:
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) is a federal law which the Office of Insurance Regulation currently does not have the authority to enforce. Enforcement authority will need to be provided by the Florida Legislature. However, some health plans have already revised their contracts to include provisions of the federal law. If your health plan has revised their contract to include federal provisions, the Department of Financial Services should be able to assist you in the event you have a concern about one of those provisions. We can be reached at 1-877-693-5236 or www.myfloridacfo.com.
Consumers with questions or concerns regarding provisions of the PPACA can contact the Health Insurance Assistance Team, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, at 1-888-393-2789 for assistance.
