NON-RESIDENT COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT PROPERTY INSURANCE AGENT/FIRM

TYPE AND CLASSES:

  • 90-32 Communication Equipment Property Insurance (Lead)

Florida Statutes 626.321 (1) (i) defines a "COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT PROPERTY INSURANCE AGENT" as employees or authorized representatives of a licensed general lines agent or employees, agents, or authorized representatives of a retail vendor of communications equipment. The license also authorizes sales of service warranty agreements covering only communications equipment to the same extent if licensed under s. 634.419 or 634.420.

COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT INSURANCE is insurance against loss, theft, mechanical failure, malfunction of or damage to communication equipment.

COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT means handsets, pagers, personal digital assistants, portable computers, automatic answering devices, and other devices or accessories used to originate or receive communications signals or service and includes services related to the use of such devices, such as consumer access to wireless network; however the term does not include telecommunications switching equipment, transmission wires, cell site transceiver equipment or other equipment and systems used by telecommunications companies to provide telecommunications service to consumers.

Agent Application Qualifications:

  • Complete an online application for License and submit appropriate fees. Apply for license
  • Be a natural person at least 18 years of age.
  • Must not be a resident of the state of Florida.
  • Be a United States citizen or legal alien who possesses a work authorization from the United States Immigration and Naturalization Services.

Firm Application Qualifications:

  • Complete an online application for License and submit appropriate fees. Apply for license
  • Business must not be located in Florida.
  • You must provide the name, social security number, date of birth, and an email address of each majority owner, partner, officer and director of the firm.

Special Notes

Each office, branch office or place of business making use of the entity's business name must file a Communication Equipment Property (2-32) application after the "Lead" location obtains the 20-32 license.
