FLAIR - Florida Accounting Information
Resource System
The FLAIR/DIS Helpdesk is the central point to report requests
for assistance dealing with ALL types of Division of Information Systems
services regarding state accounting resources. The DIS Helpdesk was formerly
known as the SAMAS Helpdesk.
Florida Department of State
The Secretary of State's Office offers information and a
variety of services including on-line voter registration and access to the
State Library catalog. It also handles registration of corporations.
Enterprise Florida
The Florida Department of Commerce was abolished by Legislative
mandate and a public-private partnership,Enterprise Florida, Inc., was created
to lead the economic development efforts for the State of Florida. This

Trading Commission
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) was created
by Congress in 1974 as an independent agency with the mandate to regulate
commodity futures and option markets in the United States. The agency protects

Comptroller of the Currency
The OCC no longer controls the issue of U.S. currency. Rather

National Credit Union Administration
The NCUA is an independent federal agency that supervises
and insures 7,329 federal credit unions and insures 4,358 state-chartered
credit unions. It is entirely funded by credit unions and receives no tax

The FDLE provides criminal justice support services to every
local sheriff and police agency in the state. Their site offers information
on missing children, a list of registered sexual predators, Florida's most

Drug Enforcement Administration

more.
Federal Bureau of Investigation
The FBI website offers a broad selection of information
regarding the Bureau's investigations, programs, law enforcement services,
accomplishments, and history, including the famous 10 Most Wanted list.
U.S. Marshal Service
The nation's oldest law enforcement agency offers on-line
information on everything from employment opportunities to wanted fugitives
and how the public can participate in auctions of seized criminal assets.
Florida Highway Patrol
Created in 1939 as the Department of Public Safety with
60 uniformed officers, the FHP currently has over 2,000 employees and is
the largest division of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

U.S. Postal Service
The U.S. Postal Service offers a variety of information
at its site, including tips on how to avoid mail fraud.
National Fraud Information Center
The NFIC helps consumers report fraud and offers helpful
advice on how to avoid becoming a victim. Incident reports are entered in
the NFIC database and referred electronically to the National Electronic
Fraud Database administered by the Federal Trade Commission and the National
Association of Attorneys General. This is an excellent source of information
on how to avoid being a victim of scams.
Nigeria - The 419 Coalition
Website
Information on worldwide scam has run since the early 1980s
under Successive Governments of Nigeria. It is also referred to as "Advance
Fee Fraud", "419 Fraud" (Four-One-Nine) after the relevant section of the
Criminal Code of Nigeria, and "The Nigerian Connection" (mostly in Europe).
However, it is usually called plain old "419" even by the Nigerians themselves.

Safety Center
This site is a joint effort between Florida's Attorney General
and the FDLE. It offers the latest on crime and fraud in the state, as well
as links to law enforcement agencies and other resources.

Developed after "three painful experiences in the same week,"
the creators of this site keep users informed of on-line scams being perpetrated
on the net, including pyramid schemes and investment "opportunities."

Canadian Securities Administration
Information and investor education for Canadian securities
regulation. The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) is a forum for
the 13 securities regulators of Canada's provinces and territories to coordinate
