CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER MEMORANDUM NO. 04 (2004-05)
SUBJECT: TERMINATION OF DINERS CLUB
AGREEMENT
The purpose of this memorandum is to notify agencies that
the credit card agreement with Diners Club will be cancelled effective March 1,
2005. CITIBANK N.A. who manages the
Diners Club Card and the State Comptroller signed the agreement in September of
1988. We have notified CITIBANK N.A. of
the cancellation.
Agencies must notify the cardholders of the termination and
that they should destroy their cards.
Agencies do not need to collect the cards. Agencies participating in the Club Rewards Program should redeem
their points. The redemption grace
period will extend to March 30, 2005.
Any agency that decides to pursue an individual contract
with Diners Club must have the contract approved in advance by the Bureau of
Auditing, as stated in the Reference Guide for State Expenditures (page
T-3). It should be noted that
agreements with other credit card companies (e.g. American Express) will not be
affected.
Please contact Mike Crowley at 850-410-9356 or mcrowley@dfs.state.fl.us if you
should have any questions.
