COMPTROLLER'S MEMORANDUM NO. 10 (2001-02)
SUBJECT: CLASS C TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT
This memorandum supersedes Comptroller's Memorandum No. 06 (2000-2001) dated
June 19, 2001.
House Bill 29-E, which implements the 2002-2003 General Appropriations Act,
amends Section 112.061, Florida Statutes, regarding Class C travel. The bill
provides the following:
(c) For the 2002-2003 fiscal year only and notwithstanding the other provisions
of this subsection, for Class C travel, a state traveler shall not be reimbursed
on a per diem basis nor shall a traveler receive subsistence allowance. This
paragraph expires July 1, 2003.
Pursuant to Section 112.061(2)(f), Florida Statutes, “State traveler” and
“traveler” are defined as a “public officer, public employee, or authorized
person, when performing authorized travel.” Therefore, the restriction applies
to all employees, vendors, board members and others subject to Section 112.061,
Florida Statutes, during the 2002-2003 Fiscal Year.
