CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER MEMORANDUM NO. 05 (2003-04)

SUBJECT: CLASS C TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENTS

This memorandum supersedes Chief Financial Officer's Memorandum No. 1 (2003-2004) dated July 1, 2003.

House Bill 1837, which implements the 2004-2005 General Appropriations Act, amends Section 112.061, Florida Statutes, regarding Class C travel. Section 27 of the bill provides the following:

(c) For the 2004-2005 fiscal year only and notwithstanding the other provisions of this subsection, for Class C travel, a state traveler shall not be reimbursed on a per diem basis nor shall a traveler receive subsistence allowance. This paragraph expires July 1, 2005.

Pursuant to Section 112.061(2)(f), Florida Statutes, “State traveler” and “traveler” are defined as a “public officer, public employee, or authorized person, when performing authorized travel.” Therefore, the restriction applies to all employees, vendors, board members and others subject to Section 112.061, Florida Statutes, during the 2004-2005 Fiscal Year.
