It has recently come to our attention of a potential problem with prices quoted from moving companies. It appears that some companies may not be including packing costs in their original quotes, and simply stating that packing is extra. Once a contract is signed, excessive charges for packing are added to the contract amount.

To avoid this type of situation from occurring, agencies should be careful to include packing costs in the evaluation process. This would be appropriate whether or not packing services are anticipated be used.
