Expenditures In Support Of, Or In
Opposition To, Candidate Or Issue Appearing On Ballot |
Chapter 2002-402, Laws of Florida, is the implementing bill for the
2002-2003 General Appropriations Act. Section 78 of the bill provides
the following:
“It is the policy of the state that no state agency or local governmental
entity receiving any funds pursuant to the 2002-2003 General Appropriations
Act shall expend any such funds for newspaper, magazine, direct mail,
radio, television, or outdoor advertising in support of, or in opposition
to, any candidate or issue appearing on the ballot. Any violation of
this policy shall result in the forfeiture and reversion of 5 percent
of state funds appropriated or distributed to that agency or entity
in the 2002-2003 General Appropriations Act. The Comptroller or Chief
Financial Officer shall be responsible for the enforcement of this section.”
