Role of the Employer

The role of the employer pursuant to s. 440.13(2), F.S. is to:

  • Furnish such medically necessary remedial treatment, care, and attendance for such period as the nature of the injury or the process of recovery may require, including medicines, medical supplies, durable medical equipment, orthoses, prostheses, and other medically necessary apparatus.
  • Provide or authorize initial treatment upon notification of the injury, upon request by the injured employee, or upon request by the provider.
