Core Functions
- To inform and to assist injured workers, employers/carriers
and health care providers in fulfilling their responsibilities
under workers' compensation law
- To serve as a resource to employees and to educate and
disseminate workers' compensation information to employees and
employers
- To investigate disputes and attempt to facilitate an
agreement between the employee and the employer/carrier
- To assist the employee in drafting a petition for benefits
which meets the specificity requirements outlined in section
440.192(2) and section 440.192(6), and to explain the procedures
for filing petitions for benefits
- Investigates unpaid medical bills submitted by the provider
or facility in attempt to effect a disposition
- Reviews and investigates Notices of Denials (DWC-12s)
submitted to the Division by the Employer/Carrier
