The Division of Workers’ Compensation, pursuant to Section 440.525, F.S., and Rule 69L-24, F.A.C., audits the benefit disbursement and claims handling practices of all insurance carriers and self-insured employers providing Workers’ Compensation coverage in the State of Florida. The audit process may address patterns or practices of unreasonable delay in claims handling, timeliness and accuracy of payments and reports and any other issues identified by the Division. These audits are based on an analysis of certain key performance indicators or at the discretion of the Division.
