Fire Standards Testing Schedule
2010
The 2010 schedule of Bureau of Fire Standards testing
is available.
All written examinations with
the exception of Firefighter I and Firefighter II are available at over 20 locations around the
State of Florida through the contracted testing facility provider. Once approved
to test, you receive directions on how to contact and arrange to take your
examination at a time and date that is more convenient to your needs than ever
before.
Firefighter II examinations are given at the end of the training program at the
Certified Training Centers. Firefighter II practical retests, Florida
Equivalency (out-of-state firefighters) and Retention testing is offered
at the Florida State Fire College.
Firefighter 1 examinations
are given regionally on an as-needed basis, and at the Fire
College.

For Firefighter I and II test dates and locations,
select “locate”, then “future test offerings”. Use the pull down menu to select a
location and or select a date range then select “search”.
Find the testing facility
nearest you and note the dates and time of testing.
Equivalency testing dates for those seeking Florida Firefighter II
certification and in-state Firefighter II practical / written retests are listed
below
To sign up for a test on-line,
login to FCDICE at
www.floridastatefirecollege.org , select “Apply”, select “Certification exam”
and follow the prompts.
To sign up for
a test using a paper application, go to
www.fldfs.com/sfm/bfst/Standard/firestan.htm
, download and
fill out the
correct application form(s) required for the certification you wish to be tested
in. Mail the application and the required fee to the Bureau of Fire Standards,
Florida State Fire
College; 11655 NW Gainesville Road; Ocala, FL 34482-1486. Completed applications and
checks, made payable to the Florida Department of Financial Services, for
all
tests
must be received no later than 5:00pm on the Application Deadline date
stated next to the examination date below.

Times indicated below are the times testing begins. All examinations will start promptly at the time shown. Test dates, Times and Locations are subject to change.

The breakdown for the
Monday - Friday schedule is:
Monday:
Original Written and Practical Minimum
Standards Examinations and Out of State Equivalency applicants. A
maximum of 40 students will be admitted.
Tuesday:
Retest of Written and Practical
Minimum Standards Examinations for applicants who have failed both
parts. A maximum of 40 students will be admitted.
Wednesday:
Minimum Standards Retention
Examinations. A maximum of 40 students will be admitted.
Thursday:
Retest of Practical
Minimum Standards Examinations for applicants who have fialed "pieces
and parts" of the original Practical Examinations. A maximum of 40
students will be admitted.
Friday:
Minimum Standards Retention
Examinations. A maximum of 40 students will be admitted.

Note: The Bureau of Fire Standards and Training will be open for testing
on Veteran's Day NOV 11, 2010, but the offices and cafeteria will be
closed.
