Sunrise Healthcare Plan Inc. ("Sunrise") was placed in liquidation on August 11, 1997. Proof of claim forms were mailed in April 1998. The deadline for filing a claim was October 1, 1998. If you have submitted a proof of claim form, you will be notified, in writing, of the Receiver's recommendation on your claim.
On November 2, 2010, the First Interim Report on Claims was filed with the Court in the estate of Sunrise. On November 3, 2010, the Court issued an order approving the report. A total of 1,972 claims were filed in the Sunrise estate within Classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8. Claims in Classes 1 through 6 were evaluated but there was no evaluation completed for claims in the other classes due to limited assets in this estate. On November 19, 2010, Notices of Determination ("Notices") were mailed to these claimants. The Notice informed them of the Receiver's recommendations concerning the classification and amount of their claim, along with instructions on how to proceed if a claimant objected to the recommendations. Objections are required to be filed by the claimant, in writing, with both the Court and the Receiver and postmarked by January 3, 2011. Objections filed after that date will not be considered.
