What is the agent's responsibility to the policyholders?
Section 631.341(2), Florida Statutes requires that agents provide to
policyholders a written notice of the insolvency of the insurer before the
court-ordered cancellation date of the policies. This written notice to
policyholders must be sent by certified or registered mail to the last known
address of the policyholder. In accordance with the terms of the Liquidation
Order, all policies are cancelled 11:59 pm, July 1, 2005, unless otherwise
cancelled earlier in the normal course of business.
