On September 5, 2012, the Court issued an Order Approving Receiver's Claim Distribution Report and Distribution Accounting and Authorizing Distribution. On September 27, 2012, the Receiver mailed checks to 3,840 non-HMOCAP Class 6 claimants representing 2.5041% of the recommended amount owed claimants. The total of the 3,840 checks was $840,020.40.
The HMOCAP provided coverage for this estate. In addition to the $840,020.40 mailed to Non-HMOCAP Class 6 claimants, $6,386,936.78 of premium was collected by the HMOCAP and treated as Early Access funds. Non-HMOCAP claimants had received three previous distributions that represented 100% 0f the Class 1, 2, 3, and 5 claims and 22.6900% of Class 6 claims.
On December 21, 2012, the Court issued an Order that discharged the Florida Department of Financial Services of its duties as Receiver of Sunstar Health Plan, Inc. effective December 28, 2012.
Pursuant to the Distribution Orders, all uncashed distribution checks will be sent to the Department of Financial Services, Bureau of Unclaimed Property.
