On December 19, 1994, Dealers Insurance Company ("Dealers") was placed into liquidation by Order of the Second Judicial Circuit Court in and for Leon County, Florida ("Court"). The Florida Department of Financial Services was appointed the Receiver of the Dealers estate. The Order established a claims filing deadline of October 1, 1995.

On July 12, 2002, the First Interim Report on Non-Guaranty Association Claims was filed with the Court. The Court issued an Order approving the report on July 17, 2002. Notices were then mailed to 2,026 Dealer claimants informing them of the Receiver’s recommendations concerning the classifications and amounts on their claims, along with instructions on how to proceed if a claimant objected to the recommendations. Objections were required to be filed by the claimant, in writing, with both the Court and the Receiver and postmarked by September 6, 2002. Objections filed after that date were not considered. All filed objections have been resolved.

On January 3, 2007, the Court approved the Final Claims Report regarding the distribution of assets in this estate. Under the terms of the Order, Class 1 claimants received a 100% distribution and Class 2 claimants received a 60.6435% distribution of the adjudicated amounts on their claims. Distributions were mailed on January 10, 2007. There were insufficient assets to make further distributions in this estate.

On June 27, 2007, the Court issued an Order that discharged the Florida Department of Financial Services of its duties as Receiver of Dealers effective June 30, 2007.

Pursuant to the Discharge Order, all undelivered distributions were sent to the Department of Financial Services, Bureau of Unclaimed Property.  The Bureau of Unclaimed Property may be reached at:
