What is the status of the service warranty contracts of CSSI?

By court order, all in-force service contracts of CSSI are cancelled on November 12, 2010, with the following exceptions:

• Contracts with a normal expiration date prior to 12:01 a.m. on November 12, 2010, are cancelled as of the earlier time and date.
• Contracts that were cancelled for non-payment of premium prior to 12:01 a.m. on November 12, 2010, are cancelled as of the earlier time and date.

I recently receive a mailing from the Florida Department of Financial Services that includes an offer of coverage from a company called Service America. What am I supposed to do with this information?

Please read the package in its entirety. The purpose of the mail out is to provide current information on the status of your cancelled CSSI service contract and to let you know about an offer of coverage from Service America. Action is required by you if you want to accept Service America's offer. If you have additional questions about the offer of coverage, please contact Service America directly at #1-888-284-7403.

In an effort to assist CSSI’s service contract owners, the Receiver has arranged with Service America Enterprise, Inc. (“Service America”) to offer transition service contracts/coverage. Service America has agreed that it will provide CSSI’s service contract owners with this coverage from December 2, 2010 to the end of the service contract owner’s original CSSI contract for no additional cost provided that the service contract owner purchase an additional year of coverage from Service America at the time that the offer is accepted. Further, Service America has agreed to offer the one year renewal service contract for the same price, coverage, terms, and conditions as the original CSSI contract.
