What is the status of the insurance policies of NGIC?

By Court order, all in-force policies of NGIC are cancelled at 12:01 a.m. EST on November 9, 2011, with the following exceptions:

  • Policies with a normal expiration date prior to 12:01 a.m. on November 9, 2011, are cancelled as of the earlier time and date.
  • Policies that were cancelled for non-payment of premium prior to 12:01 a.m. on November 9, 2011, are cancelled as of the earlier time and date.
  • Flood insurance policies issued by NGIC pursuant to the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968, as amended are not cancelled.
