Proof of claim forms have been mailed. Any proof of claim form
filed after the claims filing deadline was considered “late filed”.
On March 7, 2005, the First Interim Claims Report was filed with the Second Judicial Circuit Court
in and for Leon County, Florida (“Court”) in the estate of N.A.P.T. On March 14, 2005, the Court
issued an order approving the report. On March 17, 2005, notices were sent to 1,706 claimants who filed
a proof of claim in the N.A.P.T. estate. The notice informed them of the Receiver’s recommendations
concerning the classification and amount of their claim, along with instructions on how to proceed
if the claimant objected to the recommendations. Objections are required to be filed by the claimant,
in writing, with both the Court and the Receiver and postmarked by April 22, 2005. Objections filed
after that date were not be considered. All objections have been resolved.
On April 11, 2006, the Receiver filed a motion for approval of the Final Claims Report, the Final
Distribution Report, the Distribution Accounting and approval to make a distribution to claimants in Class
2. On April 12, 2006, an order was entered that granted approval for the Receiver to mail distribution checks
representing 26.7004% of the recommended and adjudicated amount to claimants in Class 2. As a result of the order,
1,431 claimants were approved to receive a distribution check. The checks were mailed on April 25, 2006. No other
distributions were made in this estate.
On December 20, 2006, the court issued an Order that discharged the Florida Department of
Financial Services of its duties as Receiver of N.A.P.T. effective December 21, 2006.
Pursuant to the court order, all undelivered distributions will be sent to the
Department of Financial Services, Bureau of Unclaimed Property. The Bureau of Unclaimed
