How do I contact HomeWise to file a new claim or to check on the status of a pending claim?
For Florida Policyholders:
For losses which occurred prior to November 1, 2011: During liquidation, the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (FIGA) steps in and handles the processing and payment of covered loss claims. You may contact FIGA by calling (800) 988-1450 or by mail at the following address:

FIGA pays covered claims up to a maximum of $300,000 per claim. For Homeowners claims, there is an additional $200,000 available for Coverage A and Coverage C losses. Loss claim payments are subject to a $100 statutory deductible per claim.
A policyholder may file a claim in the HomeWise receivership for the $100 deductible, for amounts over the cap, or for other claims not covered by FIGA. The Receiver will provide instructions for filing a claim in the liquidation proceeding. For new losses which occurred on or after November 1, 2011: Contact Homeowners’ Choice by calling toll free 1-866-324-3138. To check on the status of a claim which occurred on or after November 1, 2011, call 1-877-235-5076.
For Louisiana Policyholders:
For losses which occurred prior to November 1, 2011: The Louisiana Insurance Guaranty Association (“LIGA”) is activated to help pay outstanding claims for Louisiana property and casualty policies. The processing and payment of pending claims will be made in accordance with the Louisiana statutes. If I have already filed a claim with HomeWise, will the Liquidation affect the status of my claim?
No. The adjusting of your claim will continue, once the guaranty association becomes operational, with the adjusting being performed by representatives from the guaranty association.
