On June 30, 2006, Florida Select Insurance Company (“Florida Select”) was ordered into receivership
for purposes of rehabilitation by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida ("Court"). The Florida
Department of Financial Services is the court appointed Receiver of Florida Select. The company consented
to the receivership.
Florida Select, a Florida corporation licensed in 1996,
was headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama and
had additional offices in Sarasota, Florida. The company is authorized to transact business in the state of Florida
as a domestic property and casualty insurer. Florida Select wrote homeowner’s multi-peril, allied lines, and fire
insurance coverage in Florida. Florida Select also wrote business in South Carolina and had policies in force in that state.
The company is an affiliate of Vesta Fire Insurance Corporation; Vesta Insurance Corporation; Texas Select Lloyds Insurance
Company; Shelby Casualty Insurance Company; The Shelby Insurance Company; and Select Insurance Services, Inc., all of which
are in receivership under the control of the Texas Department of Insurance.
Florida Select - Established Claim Filing Deadline of April 12, 2010 On October 2, 2009, the Receiver
filed its Status Report and Motion for Approval of Rehabilitation Plan ("Motion"). On October 13, 2009, the Receivership Court
entered its Order Approving Receiver's Status Report and Motion for Plan of Rehabilitation ("Order"). The issued Order establishes
a claim filing deadline of April 12, 2010 in the Florida Select estate. To view a copy of the Motion and Order, click

On Friday, October 30, 2010, notices were mailed to approximately 144,000 potential
claimants of Florida Select. The notice informed all claimants of the receivership plan, claim filing deadline and advised them to go the Receiver's website to
