Company Information: January 27, 2011, the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida ("Court") granted permission to re-open the Florida Life Insurance Company f/k/a Conger Life Insurance Company ("Florida Life") receivership. The Department of Financial Services is the Court appointed Receiver of the company. Florida Life was previously in liquidation from November 18, 1997 until it was closed effective June 29, 2000. The Receivership is being re-opened for the purpose of distributing certain assets in the company's pension plan to those entitled to them and terminating the plan.
June 29, 2012, the Receiver filed a motion with the Court demonstrating that distributions were made to those entitled to receive assets from the company’s pension plan and asking the court to discharge the Receiver from any further responsibilities. The Court approved the motion effective June 29, 2012 and the estate is now closed.
