Windstorm mitigation is our best defense against the devastating destruction of hurricane force winds.  The Insurance Consumer Advocate strongly encourages all Floridians to contact the My Safe Florida Home Program for information regarding free inspections and mitigation grants.  The Windstorm Mitigation Study Committee recently submitted its report to the Legislature, and we expect to see other programs that will provide financial incentives for strengthening our homes.
