Welcome to the Florida Housing Help website, created by Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink. The site will help connect struggling Floridians who may be at risk of losing their homes to foreclosure or may be facing mortgage fraud issues with assistance.
On July 30, 2008, the Congress passed and the President signed into law the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (HERA). This comprehensive legislation was created to assist homeowners across America who are facing foreclosure, unemployment and declining home values.
After HERA's passage, Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink created a Financial Action Team (FACT Team) to ensure that Floridians can maximize the benefits they receive from this law. FACT Team members represent a broad coalition of financial and housing stakeholders and are continuing to review ways that Floridians can qualify for assistance from the federal government.
