Workers’ Compensation Annual Anti-Fraud Report Filing

The 2003 Florida Legislature enacted new fraud legislation requiring Workers' Compensation insurers to provide annual statistical data to the Division of Insurance Fraud. Effective August 1, 2004, each insurer writing workers' compensation insurance in Florida shall report to the division its experience in implementing and maintaining an anti-fraud special investigative unit (SIU) or an anti-fraud plan. The DFS Informational Memorandum describes the statistical data required pursuant to 626.9891 (6), Florida Statutes. After accessing the WCAF report filing database, you will initiate a new account code and create a password so that you can begin the report filing. We have developed a series of FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS which provides instructions, definitions and help in filing this report. Insurance carriers that are licensed to insure workers’ compensation coverage, but did not write any coverage for this reporting period must activate a new account in order to comply by filing “No Data to Submit”. The WCAF report filing is due annually on or about August 1. The WCAF is typically activated by July 1st of each year.
