Florida Statutes 626.321(1)(f) defines a “CROP
HAIL AND MULTIPLE-PERIL CROP INSURANCE AGENT” as
an individual limited to transacting insurance covering crops subject to unfavorable weather conditions, fire or lightening, flood, hail, insect infestation, disease, or other yield-reducing conditions or perils which is provided by the private insurance market, or which is subsidized by the Federal Group Insurance Corporation including multi-peril crop insurance.

and submit appropriate fees.

Be a natural person at least 18 years of
age.

Be a resident of the state of Florida.

Be a United States citizen or legal alien
who possesses a work authorization from the
United States Immigration and Naturalization
Services.

License may be issued to an employee of a
general lines agent or agency or a bona fide
salaried employee of an association
chartered under the Farm Credit Act of 1971,
12 U.S.C. ss. 2001 et seq.

If licensed in another state within three
years, provide a Letter of Clearance.

Exemptions for State Examination
- A letter of clearance indicating the licensee held a Crop, Hail and Multi-Peril Crop
license for at least one (1) year in his/her home state and applying for a license within 90 days of
becoming a resident of the State of Florida.
Special Notes
Licensees must be appointed by, and the
limited license requested by, a licensed general
lines agent. All business transacted by the
limited agent shall be in behalf of, in the name
of, and countersigned by the agent by whom the
individual is appointed. The licensee
may only be appointed by one general lines agent or
agency.
