Notice of Receivership

On March 15, 2011, Seminole Casualty Insurance Company ("Seminole Casualty") was placed into receivership for the purposes of liquidation by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in and for Leon County, Florida. The Florida Department of Financial Services is the court-appointed receiver of Seminole Casualty. The company consented to the receivership.

Background Information

Seminole Casualty was a property and casualty insurance company which was licensed in Florida in 1988. The company was licensed in 8 states – Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee – but wrote primarily personal and commercial auto only in Florida and Maryland. As of February 28, 2011, the Company had a total of 36,671 Florida personal auto policies, 1,764 commercial auto policies and 2,644 artisan contractors’ general liability policies.
