Premium Refund Information - Homeowners Policies

If I cancelled my policy prior to the May 1, 2010 liquidation date, will I get a full refund or will $100 be deducted from my refund? When will the refund be processed?

All cancellations processed on in-force policies after the company was placed into receivership on April 12, 2010 will incur the $100 statutory deductible. If the gross refund is less than $100, you will not receive a check at this time but will have a claim in the estate. Refund checks have now been mailed.

If I cancel my policy on or after May 1, 2010 but prior to the May 30, 2010 liquidation date, will I get a full refund or will $100 be deducted from my refund? When will the refund be processed?

All cancellations processed on in-force policies after the company was placed into receivership on April 12, 2010 will incur the $100 statutory deductible. If the gross refund is less than $100, you will not receive a check at this time but will have a claim in the estate. Refund checks have now been mailed. The Receiver mass cancelled all policies as of May 30, 2010. Any additional monies owed due to cancellation prior to this date were sent in a supplemental check.

If my policy was financed by a premium finance company, will I receive the refund check?

If a policy was financed by a premium finance company, the refund check will be sent to the premium finance company but will be made out to both the policyholder and the premium finance company. The two parties will then both need to endorse the check before it can be presented for payment.
