Business Applications Senior Programmer

($4,108.90 - $6,949.60 monthly)

Starting salary will be determined based on experience.

The Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Rehabilitation and Liquidation (Division), plans, coordinates and directs the rehabilitation and/or liquidation of insolvent insurance companies, unlicensed insurance companies, and unlicensed insurance entities.

The Division is seeking a Business Applications Senior Programmer. This position is responsible for performing advanced computer programming work designing, developing and maintaining custom applications and information technology solutions.

GENERAL DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Performs business analysis, creates specifications, and develops computer programs that automate specific business processes.
  • Designs and develops business application user interface(s).
  • Analyzes, defines, and documents application system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems.
  • Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
  • Analyzes and determines compatibility of business applications, new designs, or modifications with other systems.
  • Compiles code into programs and corrects errors detected in compile process.
  • Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding user training, errors, problems, or questions with programs and applications.
  • Tests and implements system changes in both a test and production environment.
  • Travels as requested.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, information systems, computer engineering, and/or mathematics and three years of experience in computer programming, computer engineering, computer science, web design, information systems, and/or mathematics, OR

  • Professional experience as described above may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education, OR

  • One year as a Business Applications Programmer with the Receiver.

 

PREFERENCE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH:

  • Microsoft SQL Server Development
  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and/or 2012
  • MVC and/or Web Forms Web Application Development
  • HTML, JavaScript, SQL, ASP.Net C#
