The Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducts, supervises and coordinates investigations within the Department of Financial Services to detect, deter, and prevent fraud, waste, misconduct and mismanagement. Our investigations are initiated from the following sources:  The Get Lean Florida Hotline; DFS employees and management; and other state employees and private citizens.

If you have observed a DFS employee violating a law or policy, misusing state resources or getting a benefit for “looking the other way,” or if you have observed a vendor misleading the Department for financial gain:

 

 

Whistle-blower's Act

Whistle-Blower complaints (Florida Statutes § 112.3187-112.31895) are different and are reserved for the most serious issues -- substantial danger to public health, safety and welfare or gross mismanagement, waste of funds, or neglect by a Department of Financial Services employee. Routine personnel issues or general complaints are not a proper subject matter for whistle-blower complaints.

If you believe you have a substantial issue that needs to be reported, please review the Whistle-blower Fact Sheet (link) and then use of the following methods of filing the complaint:
