Florida ousts health insurance planSun-Sentinel 4-26-02 The Florida Department of Insurance has banned American Benefit Plans, which marketed health insurance through a variety of so-called associations, from selling or renewing policies because the company is not licensed in the state. Insurance officials said the policies largely were sold under "numerous permutations and versions of UltraMedChoice Health Plan by at least 25 agents statewide. The firm is in receivership and claims are being paid through the receiver, Florida officials said.
