Orlando agent charged with selling bogus insuranceOrlando Business Journal 5-1-03 The state Department of Insurance filed charges this week against 15 insurance agents, including an Orlando agent, who allegedly were selling policies for unlicensed entities. Daryl Brian Williams of Orlando was among agents charged with selling bogus insurance. "Our goal is to take the swiftest action possible against these scam operators," says Florida's Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher. "We will not tolerate the selling of false security to Floridians." Phony coverage for health and medical malpractice insurance has left tens of thousands of Floridians with unpaid claims as a result of buying insurance from unlicensed entities. Administrative complaints issued this week charge agents with selling policies for various unlicensed entities already shut down by the department, including Physicians Exchange, Employers Mutual, Vanguard and TRG Marketing Group.
