TEMPORARY LIFE AND VARIABLE ANNUITY AGENT

T2-14 Temporary Life and Variable Annuity Agent
Florida Statutes 626.175 allows for a “TEMPORARY LIFE AND VARIABLE
ANNUITY” license and 626.015 defines a “TEMPORARY LIFE AND VARIABLE
ANNUITY AGENT” as an individual that represents an ordinary-combination
class insurer. Applicant must be an executor or administrator of the
estate of a deceased person who at the time of death was licensed and
appointed as a life agent or a surviving next of kin of such a deceased
person, if no administrator or executor had been appointed and qualified;
however, any license and appointment under this paragraph shall be cancelled
upon the issue of a license to an executor or administrator.
Application Qualifications:
- Complete an online application for License and submit appropriate
fees.
Apply for license
- Be a natural person at least 18 years of age.
- Be a resident of the state of Florida.
- Be a United States citizen or legal alien who possesses a work
authorization from the United States Immigration and Naturalization
Services.
- Not be an employee of the United States Department of Veterans
Affairs or state service office, as referred to in Section 626.833,
Florida Statutes.
- Be fingerprinted at one of the Department's fingerprint sites:

Special Notes
- Florida Statutes 626.175 (1) (b) (1) (d) states that an applicant
may only be appointed by the insurance companies last represented
by the agent being replaced. However, if the insurance company withdraws
from the agency, a similar insurer may appoint the applicant.
- Only one temporary license may be issued per lifetime.
- The temporary license is valid for six (6) months only. However,
if the individual passes the license examination, the temporary
license and appointment will be terminated.
