Florida Statutes 626.858 defines a “NONRESIDENT COMPANY EMPLOYEE
ADJUSTER” as an individual who is not a resident of this state, is currently
licensed or authorized in his or her home state for the type or kinds
of insurance which he or she intends to adjust claims in this state,
and is an employee of an insurer, or other insurers under the common
control or ownership of such insurer, admitted to do business in this
state.
Application Qualifications:
- Complete an online application for License and submit appropriate
fees.
Apply for license
- Be a natural person at least 18 years of age.
- Must not be a resident of Florida.
- Be a United States citizen or legal alien who possesses a work
authorization from the United States Immigration and Naturalization
Services.
- Be fingerprinted on cards provided by the Florida Department
of Financial Services. Two fingerprint cards are mailed to the applicant.
- Must provide a current letter of certification (not over 90
days old) from your resident state if your state required you to
be license as a Company Employee Adjuster.

Special Notes
Florida Statutes 626.873 and 626.864 states:
- An individual that holds a Florida Nonresident adjuster’s license,
upon becoming a resident of this state, may continue to adjust under
his or her nonresident license for (90) days. The individual must make
application for resident licensure and must become licensed within the
(90) days.
- Upon becoming a resident of this state, an individual who holds a
nonresident license is no longer eligible for a nonresident adjuster
if the individual fails to make application with the (90) days.
- Applicant cannot hold a license as a Nonresident Public Adjuster
or Independent Adjuster while simultaneously holding this type of license.
- Only one appointment is held at one time by an adjuster.
