  1. How will I know when to call Pearson VUE to schedule my examination or get my photo identification license?
    The Department will send an authorization letter the day your application is approved.  However, you may check the Department’s website at https://secure.fldfs.com/openauth_alis/ to see if you have been authorized. You must wait 3 business days before scheduling an exam with Pearson VUE. You may schedule your examination at www.PearsonVUE.com or by calling Pearson VUE toll free at 888-274-2020.
  2. How can I find a list of Pearson VUE’s test sites?
    The test sites and times of operation are listed on Pearson VUE’s website at www.PearsonVUE.com or you may obtain information by calling Pearson VUE toll free at 888-274-2020.
  3. What type of identification do I need to take to the test center?
    One form of a government issued photo identification.  The name on the photo identification must match the name under which you submitted your application.  You will not be able to obtain your license if your application and identification do not match.  If there is a difference, please call the Bureau of Licensing at 850-413-3137 for assistance.
  4. Will it be necessary for me to make an appointment with Pearson VUE to get a photo license card?
    No.  It is not necessary to make an appointment to get your photo license card. 
  5. How often are exams given?
    Exams are administered six (6) days each week at most sites. Visit Pearson VUE’s website at www.PearsonVUE.com, or call Pearson VUE toll free at 888-274-2020 to verify dates and times that test sites are open.
  6. I failed my exam with Pearson VUE, when can I take a re-examination?
    You will need to apply for a re-examination on our online application at https://aalf.fldfs.com/common/com_index.asp. You must wait 3 business days before scheduling an exam with Pearson VUE. You may then schedule your examination anytime at www.PearsonVUE.com or by calling Pearson VUE toll free at 888-274-2020. 
  7. If I’m in another state, can I take my Florida examination in that state?
    Yes, if Pearson VUE has a test site in that state.  You may check the Pearson VUE website for that information at www.PearsonVUE.com or by calling Pearson VUE toll fee at 888-274-2020. If you test in another state, you will not be able to pick up your photo license card at the test site.  The license will be mailed to you at your mailing address.
  8. How do I contact Pearson VUE?

  9. Will there be special consideration given to an applicant with a disability?
    Yes.  An applicant with a disability must contact Pearson VUE directly for assistance.  You may contact Pearson VUE may at www.PearsonVUE.com or by telephone at 888-274-2020.
  10. Can I take the examination in a language other than English?
    No. Currently examinations are in the English language only.
