On August 1, 2011, National Group Insurance Company (“NGIC”) was ordered into receivership for
purposes of rehabilitation by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida. The Florida
Department of Financial Services is the court appointed Receiver of
NGIC.
During rehabilitation, the Receiver will continue to process and pay claims in the ordinary course of business to the extent possible. NGIC stopped writing new and renewal insurance coverage on or about June 24, 2011. The company’s existing policies are not cancelled by the rehabilitation court order and will continue in the ordinary course of business. Policyholders with installment payment plans should continue to pay premiums as usual in order to continue their insurance coverage with NGIC.
NGIC is a property and casualty insurance company which was licensed in Florida in 2004. Located in Coral Gables, Florida, the company primarily wrote commercial property and commercial automobile insurance coverage. NGIC has approximately 10,500 policyholders.
